The short version
Our CSV-to-Excel converter runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never seen by us. We collect minimal technical data needed to keep the site running, and we do not sell personal information — because we barely collect any.
1. File processing
When you use the converter on our homepage, your CSV files are read and converted locally on your device using JavaScript (via the SheetJS library loaded from a CDN). No file content is transmitted to csvtoexcel.site/ or any third party as part of the conversion. Once you close or refresh the page, nothing remains on our side — there is nothing to delete because nothing was ever sent.
2. Information we collect
We do not require accounts, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and operational purposes. We use this only to keep the site secure and reliable.
3. Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies at this time. If we introduce analytics or advertising in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent via a cookie banner.
4. Third-party services
The site loads the SheetJS (xlsx) JavaScript library from the cdnjs content delivery network to perform conversions in your browser. cdnjs may log standard CDN request data. We do not embed social-media trackers, advertising networks, or analytics beacons at this time.
5. Children's privacy
Our service is a general-purpose file utility not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Data security
Because file conversion happens client-side, there is no server-side copy of your documents to protect — this is the strongest privacy guarantee we can offer. The site itself is served over HTTPS to protect data in transit.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since we hold essentially no personal data, most requests will simply be confirmed as "no data held." Contact us any time at contact@csvtoexcel.site.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
